In compliance with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Campaign UNiTE to End Violence against Women which has proclaimed the 25th of each and every month as “Orange Day,” a day to raise awareness of and take action to end violence against women and girls. In continuity to these global efforts, Soroptimist Kuwait launched the Orange Kuwait Campaign, which is a local initiative to raise awareness about the cause through various projects and advocacy events throughout the year.

The Orange Campaign will continue developing various projects throughout the year for constant awareness, advocacy, and action. The Orange Kuwait group ran a survey that consists of questions related to violence. The study was not gender-specific as it aims to produce results that reveal the magnitude of the issue of violence in general to the Kuwaiti society. The study covered the six districts of Kuwait, Asimah, Hawalli, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Al-Ahmadi, Farwaniya and Jahra.

The target limit of participation was 1000. We got over 1700 participants. The study is being published online so the team will publish it through social media, and will also go on trips to malls and other public places to conduct the study on personal iPads.
